CORK

Cork City Gaol is in a magnificent

castle-like building, which once

housed 19th-century prisoners.

Wander through the wings of the gaol,

accompanied by the shuffling feet of

inmates and the jingle of the warders’

keys. The cells are furnished with life-like

wax figures, and graffiti on the cell walls

reveals the feelings of some inmates.

The audio-visual show will help you learn

about the social history and contrasting

lifestyles of 19th-century Cork. There’s

also the Radio Museum, an ode to the

Broadcasting Station which was once

located in the Gaol, housing a small

collection of radios and exhibits on

communication.

DONCASTER SHEFF I ELD

Limber up for the Doncaster 10K

at Doncaster Racecourse on 25th

November. The start, finish, car

park, food and registration are

all within 200 metres, making for

a great environment (and minimal

lost runners!). The racecourse is

the race event area, with music

pumped out of the stadium, food

and drink plus spectator seating

to view a fantastic finishing straight

right in front of the grandstand.

The course will not disappoint

those who are hoping for a fast

and exciting run.

with Orange, Cucumber & Lobster

Mayo; and Scallops and Pork Belly with

Smoked Chilli Caramel. Don’t miss the
