uke Johnstone had a
dream. He wanted to
launch a business selling
DIY bags of flash-frozen
fruit and vegetables with
sachets of ‘superfoods’ to make at-home
smoothies. He would call it PACK’D.
Initially on the professional tennis
circuit and coaching at Brentford FC in the
evenings, it was after an injury that Luke
had the idea for a healthy smoothie brand.

performance. When my tennis scholarship
and football dreams were ended by injury,
I turned this knowledge into products.
“I wanted natural, targeted nutrition
to fuel my performance at work and in
sport – but the pre-bottled smoothie
drinks marketed as ‘healthy’ contained
high amounts of sugar,” he explains.
“I wanted to create a shortcut for the
ultimate homemade smoothie.”
Luke, 29, grew up on a tough
housing estate in Peckham, south-east
London, and was determined to build a
