The Betfair Tingle Creek Christmas
Festival at Sandown Park Racecourse
in Esher, Surrey, on the 7th and 8th
December is one of the most exciting
events in the horseracing calendar. You
can expect two days of festive fun and
thrilling racing all in a beautiful location.
The Saturday is the feature day and
holds two Grade 1 races and loads of
entertainment for everyone. A brilliant
Bavarian Beer Hall will be open for all to
enjoy and becomes the venue for the
after-party, too! Get friends and family
together this Christmas and enjoy an
incredible day out.
LEEDS BRADFORD
The Christmas Experience returns to
Lotherton Hall from 23rd November-
23rd December. For this year’s
popular festival, expect more magic, more
excitement, and Christmas on a bigger
scale. Have a look around the Elf Village,
or meet Santa in the North Pole. Enjoy the
magical Twelve Days of Christmas walk,
discover the fairies’ secret hideaway,
or head to the house for a taste of an
Edwardian Christmas complete with the
popular Edwardian selfie studio.

Near Le Vigen, a short drive south
of Limoges, the Parc Zoo du Reynou
makes a fab family day out – check
opening times from November-March.
There are more than 600 animals to
see from all five continents – you’ll find
llamas and tapirs from South America;
lions, zebras and rhinoceros from Africa;
Sumatran tigers and red pandas from Asia
and many more. There’s also a mini farm
with rabbits, ponies, donkeys and goats.
The visitors’ trail covers three miles of paths
and over 100 acres. More than 130 animal
and 120 plant species can be seen on a
walk which takes around four hours.

Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt at
the Victoria & Albert Museum until
24th February gives a unique insight
into the design process behind a selection
of groundbreaking contemporary
videogames, the first exhibition of its kind.
Using large-scale multimedia, interactive
installations and design work, including
concept art and prototypes, you can
explore how the industry is pushing
boundaries in radical new ways. There
are also playable games in the final room.

LONDON HEATHROW
Celebrate the new Lord Mayor as
the spectacular Lord Mayor’s Show
winds its way between Bank and
Aldwych on 10th November. The show
dates back to 1215, when King John
granted a charter allowing the citizens of
London to elect their own mayor. Every
year since, the newly-elected Lord Mayor
has travelled to Westminster to pledge
allegiance to the Crown. Join in the
celebrations as the colourful, three-mile-
long procession formed of 140 floats and
7,000 performers travels across the city.
You can also enjoy guided tours of the
City and stay until late afternoon to see
fireworks light up the sky over the Thames.
