It’s Afternoon Tea Week from 12th-18th
August, and to celebrate, Rodda’s
Clotted Cream and Tregothnan tea,
two of Cornwall’s most premium and
iconic brands, have partnered to
create a new and exciting tea blend,
Cornish Afternoon Tea, matched
perfectly to a classic cream tea.
This limited-edition fusion of
afternoon tea with a delicate hint of
jasmine was created by the experts
at Tregothnan in partnership with
Nicholas Rodda and his team. Light
and refreshing, it has been designed
to perfectly balance the different
components of a classic cream tea:
crumbly scone, fruity jam and, of
course, the velvety texture of Rodda’s
Cornish Clotted Cream.
Both Rodda’s and Tregothnan are
rooted in Cornwall and its traditions.

For a summer sizzler, you can’t beat
Kynren, the UK’s biggest outdoor
live theatre spectacular which takes
place every year in County Durham.
Performed on a 7.5-acre outdoor
stage at Bishop Auckland with a
1,000-strong cast, Kynren immerses
audiences in a 2,000-year, epic tale
of the history of England. The theme
for 2019 is The Year of the Viking –
audiences will join Arthur, the son of
a mining family, on his spellbinding
journey through time, featuring
thrilling choreography, stunts,
equestrianism, special effects and
pyrotechnics.
For the first time, before the show
audiences can wander through
an authentic recreation of a Viking
village, including a cookhouse
complete with vegetable patch, a
woodworker’s cottage built into the
hillside and a working blacksmith’s
forge producing real chainmail.
The cast and crew is made up of
local volunteers, with ages ranging
from five to 82 years, working
together with a world-class team
of professionals. Since its opening
performance in 2016, Kynren is on
track to bring half a million visitors to
the North East by 2020.
Kynren takes place on Saturdays
until 14th September.
Heartbeat of Home, from the
producers of Riverdance, is a high-
octane, sexy, dance and music
extravaganza. A heart-stopping tour
de force, it features the dynamic
components of traditional Irish,
Latin, Hip-Hop, Afro-Cuban and
contemporary music and dance,
showcasing 33 world-class dancers
and live musicians from Ireland,
USA, Australia, Britain, Canada, Italy,
Argentina and Spain.

The Vikings
are coming

past 15 years the estate has been
growing and producing its own tea
