Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm turns twenty this year
and has some very special anniversary
events lined-up to celebrate. Spread
across 100 acres and surrounded by lush
farmland just outside Bristol, Noah’s Ark
Zoo Farm has transformed from a dairy
farm to an award-winning attraction over
the past two decades.
From the innovatively-designed
enclosures which are some of the largest
in the UK, to the expansive open spaces
and the varied collection of more than
100 animal species – including giraffes,
a tiger, lions (including two cubs born in
2018), rhinos and a spectacled bear – size
and quality is everything at Noah’s Ark
Zoo Farm. It’s what comes from being
family-owned and having conservation
and sustainability at its heart.
It’s these values that make Noah’s Ark
Zoo Farm award-winning and seriously
special. The Elephant Eden enclosure for
example is the largest of its kind in the UK
and cost a cool £2 million to create, while
as part of the zoo’s carefully-considered
physical enrichment programme, the
animals are provided with stimulation
via carefully-selected equipment – for
example, Khan the tiger is given
a wide variety of items to
encourage him to stalk,
pounce, claw and bite items
as he would with prey in the
wild. What’s more, as part
of the zoo’s dedication to
protecting endangered animals,
it cares for various species from the
European Endangered Species Programme

(EEP). All this in a colossal outdoor space just
miles from Bristol city centre!
To celebrate these achievements
and 20 years of supporting conservation,
Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is launching new
activities that promise visitors fun and
exciting experiences. New things to look
out for in 2019 include:
TAKE FLIGHT
The new 'Wings of Wonder' birds of prey
flying display and a brand-new, specially-
designed birds of prey enclosure. This will
feature indoor and outdoor flying displays
from some amazing feathered friends
including Mr Harry, a majestic Golden
Eagle hybrid. Prepare for lots of wow
moments as these magnificent birds of
prey soaring overhead.
SNAKES ALIVE!
From 27th July to 7th August, Pete Blake
will present his UK exclusive Venomous
Snakes show, featuring some of the world’s
deadliest snakes including multiple
species of Cobra, Green Mamba, Taipan,
Rattlesnake, Puff Adder and a Saw Scale
Viper. Two shows daily and entry included
with admission.
CARNIVAL CAPERS
Plan your zoo visit for Saturday 10th August
and you'll enjoy its signature event, the
African Carnival. Celebrating World Lion
Day, this special event will see African
dancers, drummers, giant carnival
animals and acrobats all parading around
the zoo. Everyone can get involved in the
carnival atmosphere with Unika Dance
Events leading energic drumming and
dancing demonstrations.
PLAY TIME PAR ADISE
On top of all this, kids of all ages can get
lost in the Mega Maze, the UK’s largest
outdoor hedge maze, while little ones will
love the giant indoor play area where they
can go wild in the Jungle Den, buzz around
the Beehive Maze or visit the Animal Village
to learn how to milk a life-size cow. There’s
also daily keeper talks, educational events
and regular fundraising events for animal
conservation charities.
