prestigious areas of Paris, the

the famous neoclassical

Madeleine Church which gives

the square its name.

the Grand Café Fauchon

celebrates the legacy

Five-star hotel Château la Chenevière,

located between Bayeux and Port-en-

Bessin in Normandy, has relaunched its

second restaurant, Le Petit Jardin. The

eatery was previously only open for

lunch during the summer, as it only had a

few outdoor tables. Following extensive

refurbishments and an expansion of the

restaurant, Le Petit Jardin is now open for

lunch and dinner all year round.

This bistrot restaurant is located in a

magnificent glass house, which used to

be the old conservatory, in the château’s

garden. The interior features a pink

marble-top bar, rattan furniture, floral

fabrics and an abundance of plants. Le

Petit Jardin also has a spacious outdoor

terrace, which is surrounded by a

stunning, English-inspired garden, allowing

guests to enjoy the spectacular view

during the warm summer days.

The seasonal and local menu focuses

on vegetables without being entirely

vegetarian.

Head chef, Hugo Genty, favours local

produce either from their vegetable

garden or locally, from Normandy. Guests

are, of course, welcome to walk around

the garden before or after their meal.

Every Sunday, a special barbecue

set menu is served during lunch time.

The wine list focuses on natural and

biodynamic wines and the bar offers

seasonal cocktails with fresh herbs from

the garden.

New authentic Irish cocktail

bar Homeboy is now open

on Essex Road in London’s

Islington. The first bar from Irish

duo Aaron Wall and Ciarán

Smith, Homeboy pairs warm,

laid-back Irish hospitality with

delicious drinks and comfort

food. Designed to feel like a

living room, a mix of exposed

brick, painted features and

tiles have been utilised to

accentuate a cosy ‘at home’

vibe, whilst maintaining a

sense of contemporary design.

With a focus on celebrating

Irish producers, the cocktail

menu is composed of three

pillars: Irish Whiskey, where the

drinks showcase the versatility

that once saw Irish Whiskey

as the top-selling spirit in the

world; Contemporary, using

modern techniques to create

unashamedly-delicious drinks;

and Classics, paying homage

to some of the modern

classic cocktails of our time.

In addition, Irish beers and,

of course, Draught Guinness

are also served. Homeboy’s

simple food offering includes

sinful snacks such as loaded

fries and poutine (fries topped

with cheese curds, drowned

with piping hot gravy) as well

as comfort food using family

recipes. Da’s Irish Stew and

Ma’s Brown Bread use recipes

by Ciarán’s dad and Aaron’s

mum.
