NOVEMBER 2018

Meet the Team

How long have you been working

for Flybe and what attracted you to

your role?

I’ve just celebrated my first

anniversary at Flybe. I’ve always been

a bit of a country bumpkin and love

that I am able to work for Europe’s

largest regional airline in the

gorgeous Devon countryside.

What does your day-to-day

job involve?

My job involves planning and

implementing Flybe’s marketing

campaigns, including advertising,

website content management, social

media and emails. I’ve recently

been involved in the launch of

FlyShe

(flyshe.co.uk)

, an initiative

to inspire young girls to dream big

and consider careers such as pilots or

aviation engineers. I’m also a Charity

Champion for our chosen charity,

Cancer Research UK, so I’m always

coming up with crazy fundraising

ideas.

What do you enjoy most

about your job?

The travel industry is very fast-paced

and exciting, and there’s always

something different to work on. I

work with a fantastic team who are

more like a family and make me laugh

every day.

What’s the most memorable thing

that’s happened to you at work?

Last Christmas, I organised a

giant snow globe to be placed at

Southampton Airport. It was really

magical and got everyone into the

Christmas spirit.

What three words would your

friends use to describe you?

Laughs very loudly!

What do you enjoy doing when

you’re not at work?

Exploring the local area with

my husband and family, going to

cheesy clubs to dance to

The Greatest

Showman

soundtrack and being my

cat’s human. Her name is Chewie

and she’s a bit of a diva!

Where’s your favourite Flybe

destination and why?

My cousin lives in Guernsey,

so I try to see her when I can.

It’s just a quick 30-minute

flight from Exeter.

What would you recommend doing

or seeing there?

Get a boat to Sark Island and hire a

bike. There are no cars on the island

so it’s very peaceful. Cross La Coupée

(a narrow ridge on top of the cliffs) to

explore Little Sark for some beautiful

views.

As a child, you wanted to be…?

An actress. I still enjoy acting, I’ve

just taken part in a spooky Halloween

maze, playing a surgeon!

What’s one thing people are most

surprised to discover about you?

I was part of England U14 girls’

basketball team. I played on the wing

and could always weave my way

through people to score lay-ups!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Cheese… Camembert ranks top of

the cheese scale.
