HAND BAGGAGE
REMINDER
We offer a generous hand baggage
allowance and you may still bring on board
two items: one item that does not exceed
55x35x20 cm, and one smaller additional
piece, such as a handbag or laptop case.
Nevertheless, some of our passengers do
occasionally try to exceed this.
As a result, we are now consistently
enforcing our hand baggage allowance
across all Flybe flights, including those of
our franchise partners, Blue Islands, Eastern
Airways and Stobart Air. Any passenger
trying to take on board anything which
exceeds their allowance will be charged
£50 at the gate, payable by card.
We have not changed our hand
baggage allowance, just simply making sure
it’s applied fairly to everyone.
Flybe’s World
We have now successfully completed
the changeover to the Amadeus Altéa
Passenger Service System (PSS) that is now
fully up and running on
flybe.comand our
back-end systems.
The booking process has been
simplified and integrated with other areas
to ensure passengers enjoy a smooth and
personalised digital experience before,
during and after travel. The new system
has added functionality such as arranging
mobility assistance at the airport during
booking instead of via the call centre.
Winter sports enthusiasts can now add
skis and snowboards to their booking
and pay with just a click, while those who
prefer a more leisurely pursuit this summer
can do the same for their golf clubs.
The new check-in system has been well
received by passengers, especially as you
can now do so via the revamped Flybe
Millions of eligible nationals from America, Australia,
Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea
can now enjoy faster access to the UK using the eGates on
arrival into major airports – great news for our connecting
codeshare and interline passengers! As part of the eGate
expansion, UK Border Force also no longer requires any non-
EEA passenger entering the UK, on any route or into any
airport, to have completed or present a landing card.
We all enjoy a sunny day,
but don’t let sunburn catch
you out, because too much
UV from the sun (or sunbeds)
causes most cases of skin
cancer. This might feel like old
news, but rates of melanoma
(the most serious type of skin
cancer) are still increasing.
A tan is a sign of damage
caused by UV rays. That’s
why Cancer Research UK has
launched its Own Your Tone
campaign to remind people
that a natural skin tone is
beautiful and healthy, and to
encourage people to protect
their skin from too much sun.
Melanoma is the fifth most
common cancer in the UK and
the second most common
cancer in people aged 25-49,
but almost 90% of melanoma
cases could be prevented if
people took better care of
their skin in the sun.
Sun safety is not just for
holidays. In the UK, the sun’s UV
rays are the strongest between
11am and 3pm from early April
to late September. During this
time, the sun may be strong
enough to cause damage.
Cancer Research UK has
some easy-to-remember advice
for staying safe in the sun:
1. Seek shade
– especially
between 11am and 3pm, even
in the UK
2. Cover up with clothing
– wear a t-shirt, hat and
sunglasses
3. Apply sunscreen regularly
– with at least SPF15 and 4
or 5 stars. Use it generously,
re-apply regularly and use in
combination with shade and
clothing
Make sure you take care in
the sun and own your tone this
summer.

safety, please visit:

App and save boarding passes to both
Apple and Android wallets. The app has
more functionality for passengers, from
a new, easy-to-use, flight-search widget
and clearly laid-out fares, to adding travel
extras such as hold baggage or preferred
seat choice. Passengers can check in,
manage their bookings and add their
travel schedule to their phone calendars,
making travelling with us much easier.
Flight connections have also received
a boost through integration with Flybe’s
interline and 10 codeshare partners. This
gives customers more destinations to
choose from, and even more seamless
connections with our flight partners from
regional airports through hubs such as
Manchester, Birmingham and Heathrow.
This means just one check-in, one ticket and
one bag drop when booked direct with the
relevant airline or via a local travel agent.
