SEPTEMBER
“Cardiff is bursting with culture, so visit one of its many museums and galleries, such as
National Museum Cardiff or St Fagan’s National History Museum…”
It’s the
Year of Adventure in Wales in 2016
, so why not explore the buzzing capital
city of Cardiff and its surrounding area? Here are just 5 of the many fun things to do!
Come to Cardiff!
1. Hit the beach!
Rhossili Bay
In 2015, Rhossili was once again voted the third
best beach in the UK and the 11th best in Europe,
by users of TripAdvisor. It’s on the Gower Peninsula,
near Swansea, which was the UK’s first designated
Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Relax on three
miles of golden sands or take a clifftop walk with
stunning views over the sea!
2. Celebrate rugby
Principality Stadium
Take a tour around the home of Welsh rugby – a
huge part of Welsh culture. The tour gives you the
opportunity to walk in the footsteps of Wales’ rugby
heroes, from seeing the home team dressing room to
walking down the players’ tunnel to the pitch.

3. Head for the hills
Four Falls Walk, Brecon Beacons
Enjoy wooded gorges and waterfalls on the
5.5-mile Four Falls Walk in the Brecon Beacons
National Park, including Sgwd Clun-Gwyn, whose
roar can be heard far in advance. Further east,
there’s supposedly an entrance to a fairy kingdom
somewhere along the three-mile Elidir Trail.
