FLYBE TIME

A TO FLYBE

The latest news from the world of Flybe including first-ever intra-European routes from

Hannover, a new codeshare agreement with airberlin – and new routes from Manchester

Flybe has started operating its first ever intra-European flights with

two new routes taking to the skies from Hannover featuring daily

flights to both Lyon and Milan.

A VIP event was hosted by Hannover Airport to mark the

inaugural flights, which was attended by high-profile guests including

Thomas Hermann, the Mayor of Hannover; Flybe’s Chief Revenue

Officer, Vincent Hodder; Hannover Airport’s VP Aviation, Martin

Altemöller and Roger Niermann, Director of Aviation Sales.

Mr Hodder said: “This is a proud milestone for Flybe. Flybe’s

debut into this new marketplace marks the beginning of our

ambition to provide mainland Europeans with the same high level

of regional connectivity and choice of high-frequency, time-saving

travel as we currently provide throughout the UK.”

Hannover Airport CEO Raoul Hille added: “The decision of

Flybe to expand its offerings at Hannover Airport is a great signal

to the market. Flybe has already been a reliable and successfully-

growing partner at Hannover Airport.”

Flybe has been operating routes between the UK and Hannover

for nearly 10 years and currently operates multi-frequency routes

to Manchester and Birmingham with a choice of up to 13 flights a

week for each destination.

INTRA-EUROPEAN DEBUT FOR FLYBE FROM HANNOVER

A new codeshare agreement with airberlin

means that the airline is now assigning its

marketing code on Flybe routes operating

between Germany and Birmingham, Cardiff,

Doncaster, Manchester and Southampton

airports, as well as to Flybe’s new intra-

European routes from Hannover to Lyon

and Milan that started on 1st August.

This is Flybe’s tenth codeshare agreement

and is the latest example of its commitment

to provide convenient connections for

business and leisure travellers from regional

markets, offering them the opportunity to

travel to the broadest possible range of

destinations from their local airport.

Saad Hammad, Flybe’s CEO,

commented: “Our new codeshare

agreement with airberlin expands the reach

of both airlines. It strengthens Flybe’s

‘One Stop to the World’ proposition for

our regional customers in the UK who will

benefit from connections to airberlin’s long-

haul routes at Düsseldorf and Berlin-Tegel.

“The agreement also enables Flybe to

expand its sales and distribution to European

regional customers. airberlin benefits from

enhancing its route offering to the UK for its

customers in Germany and from the carriage

of UK customers on its long-haul routes. This

is an exciting win-win agreement.”

Neil Mills, Chief Strategy and Planning

Officer airberlin, added: “Our new

codeshare agreement with Flybe gives

our passengers even more choice and
