BELFAST C I TY

Enjoy the magnificent scenery and

wildlife of Strangford Lough on a boat

tour. Strangford Lough is of immense

international importance for nature

conservation. It is the largest sea lough

in the British Isles, covering an area from

Angus Rock at its mouth on the Irish Sea,

to the vast sand-flats at its northern end

20 miles away. It is only one of only five

designated Marine Conservation Zones

in Northern Ireland. See where St Patrick

first came ashore, view landscapes used

in

Game of Thrones

and hear of Viking

raiders. Tours depart from the Slipway at

Portaferry.

BERL I N-TEGEL

Built on the site of a pre-war train

station, the Liquidrom is an ultra-

modern structure that houses a

range of spa treats. Situated in the

centre of Berlin, the white, crownlike

structure was inspired by a circus

tent. There are various saunas and

baths, but the jewel in the spa’s

crown is a large, salt-water floating

pool, surrounded by arches. It is

brought to life by multi-coloured lights

and music, from techno to classical,

that can be heard under the water.

Check the website for dates of the

music programme.
