Students can take advantage of

our year-round, double-baggage

allowance, which is particularly

cost-effective for those travelling to

destinations far and wide to further

their education. It means that all

those with a valid student ID card can

travel with two items of hold luggage

weighing up to 46kg while only paying

the price for one 23kg item.

congratulate all students who have

passed their recent exams and are

now looking forward to an exciting

Marking 15 years

Crew recently celebrated 15 years

of our popular service between

Southampton to Belfast City. To mark

the milestone, Southampton Airport

organised this impressive cake, and

passengers enjoyed a performance by

traditional Irish dancers. The passenger

seated in 15B (the B standing for

Belfast) was also surprised with a

voucher for two free return flights. Roy

Kinnear, Chief Commercial Officer,

said: “In 15 years, the route has gone

from strength to strength and we now

operate up to three flights a day to the

heart of Northern Ireland’s capital, the

airport being a mere 10 minutes from

the bustling city centre.”

September is Childhood Cancer

Awareness Month, and Cancer

Research UK Kids & Teens is

encouraging the public to come

together to help raise awareness and

money for young people’s cancers.

Every year, around 4,500 children

and young people (aged 0-24) are

diagnosed with cancer in the UK.

Today, around eight in 10 young

cancer patients in the UK survive their

disease for at least five years – that’s

more than ever before. And it’s thanks

in large part to the work of Cancer

Research UK.

But we need to do more. Cancer

still claims the lives of around 520

children and young people each year

in the UK. And those who survive often

experience long-term side effects, like

hearing loss and fertility problems, which

can affect them for the rest of their lives.

The charity’s researchers are

working to develop new, better and

kinder treatments with fewer side

effects. Cancer Research UK is the only

UK charity that funds a Clinical Trials

Unit dedicated to running trials for all

children’s cancers.

Support Childhood Cancer

Awareness Month by donating to the

campaign, buying a gold ribbon pin

badge from Cancer Research UK and

TK Maxx shops, or donating a bag of

pre-loved quality clothes, accessories

and homeware to your local Cancer

Research UK or TK Maxx store as part

of the Give Up Clothes for Good

campaign.

DOUBLE BUBBLE FOR STUDENTS

TAKE AN EXTRA 23KG BAG FREE , ALL YEAR ROUND

future as they move on to further their

education.

“This means we are in the midst of

the peak travel time for those heading

off to colleges and universities for the

first time, and also for those returning

for the start of a new academic year.

“We appreciate that it’s often very

stressful for students having to live

away from home or commute weekly.

Travelling with heavy belongings and

books only adds to that stress. So we

hope that this generous hold-luggage

allowance, helps especially those who

have no other convenient option but

to fly.”

To benefit from the offer, students only

need to book one standard item of hold

luggage and produce a valid form of

student ID at the airport Bag Drop. The

additional bag will then be checked in at

no extra cost.
