COLOGNE
The four-star art’otel Cologne is in the
city’s smart, redeveloped river port.
As with other art’hotels, it acts as a
gallery for an artist’s work, in this case
Korean painter SEO, whose vivid paintings
depict canyons, mountains and coral
reefs. Rooms are mainly white, which
gives them a feeling of light and space,
accentuated by the floor-to-ceiling
windows. An opaque screen separates
the bedroom from the bathroom. The
hotel’s restaurant serves delicious Asian
fusion food and you can sip in style in the
adjoining bar.

feel on a lively square. It’s very poular – Its
location, menu, affordable prices and
attentive staff all pay a role in this success
– so it’s worth booking ahead. Expect
simple but delicious Hungarian classics
