Your on-board safety

BEHAVIOUR ON BOARD

We endeavour to provide a calm and

friendly atmosphere in the cabin which

allows all passengers to enjoy the flight.

The crew will do everything they can to

ensure this, so please consider the effect

of your behaviour on others. We have

a zero-tolerance policy to any abusive,

disruptive or offensive behaviour and we

will take further action, including reporting

such crimes to the police.

ALCOHOL

Flybe has a wide selection of alcohol for

purchase and consumption on board.

Drinking excess alcohol and consuming

your own previously-purchased alcohol is

not permitted on the aircraft.

SMOKING

Smoking cigarettes or using electronic

cigarettes is not permitted on board

any aircraft, including the toilets. Please

use designated smoking areas at your

destination airport.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Safety equipment is carried on board this

aircraft for the benefit of all passengers.

It is an offence to tamper with or remove

any of this equipment from the aircraft;

this includes life jackets and safety cards.

FLYBE’S PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY

What portable electronic

devices can I use on board

the aircraft?

On flights operated by Eastern

Airways, Stobart Air and Blue

Islands, please adhere to

the advice from the cabin

attendant regarding usage.

Handheld devices with ‘flight

safe’ mode

Handheld devices, such as

tablets, e-readers and mobile

phones may be used during all

phases of the flight, provided

the ‘flight safe’ mode is enabled

before departure. Devices must

be safely secured in the hand

or a pocket during taxi, take-off

and landing.

Any device that transmits or

receives

communications, but

does not have a ‘flight safe’

mode, must be switched off

from doors closed to doors

open.

Laptops, ultra-books and

notebooks

These devices may be used

during boarding but not for

taxi, take-off and landing. They

may be used in flight, provided

any built-in connectivity such

as Wi-Fi is switched off or set to

‘flight safe’ mode. They must be

stowed away safely during taxi,

take-off and landing.

Devices without a Flight Safe

Mode

This will include items such as

DVD players, electronic games,

and music players. Only small,

handheld devices may be

used during taxi, take-off and

landing. Larger devices must

be switched off and stowed

away safely during taxi, take-

off and landing.

Bluetooth accessories

All Bluetooth accessories (for

example, wireless keyboards,

headphones, etc.) must be

switched off from doors closed

to doors open.

Are there times when I cannot

use my handheld devices?

Under certain circumstances

your flight or cabin crew will

ask that all electronic devices

be switched off, for example,

during re-fuel operations. This

will be announced over the PA.

What about headphones?

Personal headphones can now

be used for some stages of

flight and may be attached to

your personal device. We ask

that customers remove their

headphones whenever the

seat-belt signs are illuminated

during the taxi, take-off and

landing phases and during the

safety demonstration.

Can I charge my device using

a remote power pack?

Flybe does not allow passengers

to charge their devices whilst on

board our aircraft.

Am I allowed to take

photographs during the

flight?

The use of cameras on board is

permitted unless the cabin crew

ask you not to.

Need more information?

Please ask your crew once on

board who will be happy to help.

HAND BAGGAGE

Please ensure that your hand baggage is

stowed under the seat in front of you (unless

you are seated in an emergency exit row) or

in the overhead lockers. Please be careful

when opening the overhead locker as items

may have moved during the flight and

falling items may cause injury.

CABIN BAGGAGE POLICY

Getting you to your destination safely and

on time is our priority, which is why we are

now enforcing our cabin baggage policy.

Our cabin baggage size is 55x35x20cm

(including wheels and handles). For safety

reasons, all cabin baggage must comply

with our cabin baggage sizing policy in

order to be stowed safely and securely. If

your cabin baggage is too big, you will not

be able to take it into the aircraft cabin.

Your bag will be transferred to the aircraft

hold and a charge will be applied.

By complying with our cabin baggage

policy, you are helping us ensure the

safety, comfort and convenience of all

passengers onboard.

LOST PROPERTY

If you find you have left something on

the plane, it will be taken to the lost

property or lost and found department

at the arrival airport. We have compiled

a comprehensive list of links to airport

websites to assist you in contacting the

relevant lost property department. These

can be found via the FAQ pages of flybe.

com. Please Note: Flybe do not hold onto

lost property, as your plane will have been

checked over and cleaned between

flights. Anything found on the plane will be

left with the airport for collection.
