SEPTEMBER

tradition back and leading our brewery

forward into the future!”

If you’re interested in visiting the

brewery, and seeing behind the scenes,

you can go on a tasting tour to learn

about the brewing process, hear stories

of the brewery and get an insight into

the ales. Large groups can also have

exclusive access to the brewery for

private guided tours, bespoke beer

tastings and private parties.

In Truro, you can sample the ales

in Skinner’s Brewery Tap, The Old

Ale House. Here, customers can enjoy

hearty traditional food, using locally-

sourced, high-welfare products. The

menu includes traditional gastro-pub

favourites, including 6oz dry-aged

beef burgers, steak and Stilton

skillets, wild mushroom stroganoff

and classic sausage and mash,

featuring Skinner’s very own ale.

General Manager of The Old Ale

House, Robin Lawson, said: “Over

the last 18 months, we have had the

very good fortune of the help of River

Cottage to design menus and train our

staff. We have listened to what our

customers want and have created a

menu which offers a wide range

of styles, but with a ‘classic pub

grub’ ethos.”

The beers have been getting a new

look, too. “We launched a refreshed

look for our range of beers and ales,”

Steve says, “and collaborated with

leading illustrators from the world

of music and fashion to reflect the

characteristics of each beer. We

have always known that the unique

personality of each of our ales is what

our customers love and we made the

decision to collaborate with a different

illustrator for each of our core beers

to celebrate this and allowed them the

freedom to truly capture the spirit and

individuality of each ale.”

There have also been changes in the

brewery’s production processes this

year, to deliver both increased quality

For us, it all starts with the ingredients. We use

barley grown just a couple of miles from the

brewery, and malted at Warminster Maltings in Wiltshire
