“Having the

choice of

convenient

and affordable

travel from your

local airport is

something we

feel is really

important”

Welcome on board.

Flybe is passionate about connecting regional communities and it is this

thinking that underpins every decision we take when choosing which routes

to offer, which destinations to serve, and the schedule that best fits the needs

of our customers.

It is very encouraging that our 2018 summer programme with over 170

routes has taken off to a strong start, alongside those offered by our three

franchise partners. Many of you are already clearly enjoying the new

schedule and the added seasonal routes that return at this time of the year.

This month, these include quite a few favourites to regional France such as

Avignon, Biarritz, Brest, Perpignan and Rennes.

Having the choice of convenient and affordable travel from your local

airport is something we feel is really important, and we also appreciate how

important it is to have a stable and reliable airline operating ‘Close to you’.

Flybe, in various guises throughout the years, has been operating since 1994.

Now, some 24 years later, we are still flying high at nine of those original 12

regional airports. At five of these – Belfast City, Birmingham, Exeter, Isle of

Man and Jersey – we have grown to be the largest scheduled airline

measured by air traffic movements.

All of us at Flybe are extremely proud of this strong heritage. This year

alone, we will be celebrating a number of special milestones. We have

already marked our first year at Heathrow Airport and the sixth anniversary

of the launch of our Manchester hub concept, an airport from where we have

also been flying since 1994.

Domestic aviation plays an important role in contributing towards the

economic development of our regions, not the least of which is offering

opportunities for employment. Some 60 per cent of our workforce is

employed across the 10 bases we have outside of our Exeter HQ; and last

month we opened applications for a new Flybe engineering apprenticeship

programme that starts in September.

Whatever your reason for travelling with us today, thank you for choosing to

fly with us. We look forward to welcoming you on board again soon.
