See the River Thames brought

to life in a season of events

along a 42-mile stretch during

the annual Totally Thames

festival. See large-scale art

installations, free exhibitions

and live performances. Enjoy a

concert below river level or join

an archaeological tour of the

river's surroundings. See boats

of all sizes cruise down the river,

or join one of many boat parties.

OPEN HOUSE LONDON

Celebrate London's architectural

wonders as Open House

London throws open the doors

of hundreds of buildings and

spaces around the capital. Enjoy

free access to more than 800

public buildings, private houses,

churches, museums, schools and

offices, and join tours, guided

walks and activities throughout

the weekend. Explore iconic

buildings that are not usually

open to the public, learn

something new about more

familiar spaces, and step into the

private homes of the rich and

famous.

PEARLY KINGS AND QUEENS

HARVEST FESTIVAL

30th September

Join the Pearly Kings and Queens

Harvest Festival celebrations at

Guildhall Yard, and experience

London’s historic Pearly tradition.

Dressed in their best dark suits

covered in hundreds of bright

pearl buttons, the Pearly Kings

and Queens of London are a

charming and unforgettable

sight. Getting together for the

biggest event in the Pearly

calendar, they celebrate the

autumn harvest with traditional

entertainment in front of Guildhall

from 1.30pm, before parading

through the streets to St Mary

Le Bow Church for a service of

thanksgiving. Expect Morris

dancing, maypole dancing,

marching bands and lots of

colourful characters at this

traditional event.

FILM4 SUMMER SCREEN

9th-22nd August

Watch modern and classic movies under the starry summer skies

with Film4 Summer Screen open-air film festival at Somerset House.

The stunning Edmond J. Safra Fountain Court provides the setting

to London’s largest screen set against Somerset House, which itself

has provided the backdrop to many movies. Choose from a mixed

programme of UK premieres, old favourites and Cannes award-

winning films in full surround sound. Before the movies start, enjoy

DJ sets inspired by the films, an exclusive screening of a short

film commissioned for the festival, special guest introductions on

selected nights, and plenty of food and drink options; or you can

even bring your own picnic.
