Me ga Bar a t W Le i c e s t e r Squar e

At the heart of Leicester Square, the W London is one of

Soho’s trendiest hotels, made all the more trendy by the

recent addition of its Mega Bar service. This upgrade on the

humble mini bar sees a fully-kitted bar unit wheeled into

guest suites, complete with a personal mixologist, sound

system and disco ball. It’s offered as part of any suite booking

(from £440 per night), and includes one cocktail per person

from a dedicated cocktail menu. The opulent bar is styled on

a music freight case, and opens out to reveal luxurious details

such as an onyx worktop, leather panelling and a handcrafted

gold-hammered sink – plus a plethora of premium spirits and

drinks. Chin-chin!

DUCK & WA F F L E LOC A L

110 Bishopgate’s Duck & Waffle (London’s highest 24/7 restaurant)

has been a hit ever since opening in July 2012, offering a 24-hour

venture Duck & Waffle Local, a ‘contemporary urban farmhouse’

with (webbed) feet planted firmly on the ground in the redeveloped

St James’s Market near Piccadilly Circus. e new restaurant will be

overseen by Chef Director Dan Doherty, and will be the first fast-

casual, duck-oriented restaurant, with new dishes including a crispy

duck leg burger and a duck jam doughnut. On the libation front,

Rich Woods (Head of Spirit & Cocktail Development) is concocting

a range of on-tap cocktails, and there’ll be a range of local brews

including the aptly-named Holy Duck IPA.

in imparting vital information to teams and pointing them in the right direction.

The event will run from 5th May from 6pm, with afternoon sessions also held

on Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm. Teams will be set off at 10-minute
