ARCELORMITTAL ORBIT (LONDON)

See the UK capital at breakneck speed as you slide down the world’s

longest, fastest, tallest tunnel slide at the ArcelorMittal Orbit in the

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, an iconic landmark in East London

and a symbol of the London 2012 Olympic Games. It’s the UK’s tallest

sculpture, designed by sculptor Sir Anish Kapoor and engineer Cecil

Balmond. The structure contains enough steel to make 265 double-

decker buses, but you’ll be able to whizz down it in 40 seconds,

circling it a dozen times.

POP UP

QUEEN OF HOXTON PRESENTS BANGARANG

East London’s Queen of Hoxton has announced the theme for

its annual summer rooftop pop-up, and this year it’s taking cues

from J.M. Barrie’s classic tale of Peter Pan. There’ll be The Lost

Boy’s hideout bar serving Neverland-inspired cocktails such as

the Floating Fairy, Blue Lagoon and shots served in clamshells,

and events and workshops taking place throughout the summer

– from wild life drawing with real animals to terrarium-building

sessions. Here’s to never growing up…
